The House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of Louis M. Pulner, Esq., an esteemed attorney and litigator. Louis Pulner was a native of Providence, a graduate of Classical High School, Providence College, and Suffolk University Law School. He began his legal career as a Special Assistant Attorney General in Rhode Island, where he gained recognition for his work in prosecuting drunk drivers. After serving under two Attorneys General, he joined a law firm and later established his own practice, focusing on various legal areas including family law and criminal law.
Louis Pulner was known for his generosity, often doing pro bono work for those in need, particularly families and children, which earned him numerous accolades from the Rhode Island Bar Association. He served as the Solicitor for the Town of Barrington for 35 years and contributed as a legal analyst on local media. Pulner was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his mother, children, grandchildren, sister, niece, and chosen family. The House has resolved to extend condolences to his family and directed the Secretary of State to transmit certified copies of the resolution to his family members as a testament to his memory.
