Patricia Ann Mehrtens, born on June 21, 1934, is a lifelong resident of Burrillville and has been an active and influential member of her community. She graduated with honors from Burrillville High School and attended Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School. Patricia married Donald Mehrtens in 1955 and together they raised three children. Her professional life included working at GMAC, Delma Press, and owning an antique shop. She was also elected to the Burrillville Town Council and served as Town Clerk.

Beyond her professional and political contributions, Patricia Mehrtens is an accomplished author, having published several books on the history of Burrillville and created a comprehensive website on the town's history. She has been a member of various historical and preservation societies, contributing significantly to the conservation of local heritage. Recognized as the matriarch of her family and the official Burrillville Town Historian, Patricia's 90th birthday was celebrated with a resolution by the House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island, honoring her life and service, and wishing her continued happiness and health. The Secretary of State was directed to provide her with a certified copy of this resolution.
