The resolution honors Mr. Lemon, a beloved frozen lemonade business that has been a staple in Rhode Island's capital for fifty years. The business, which was founded by Eileen Rao (Mama Lemon) and her husband Joseph in 1974, has been passed down to their children who continue to run it. Mr. Lemon is celebrated for its variety of flavors, including the unique Tutti Fruiti and a flavor renamed in honor of the late Senator Maryellen Goodwin.

The Senate of the State of Rhode Island formally congratulates Mr. Lemon for its five decades of service to the community, providing refreshment and joy to both residents and visitors. The resolution expresses gratitude for the iconic treat and wishes the business many more years of success. Additionally, it instructs the Secretary of State to send certified copies of the resolution to Janice Valedofsky, Colleen Rao-Sales, and Joseph Rao, Jr., the children of the founders who currently manage Mr. Lemon.
