The resolution acknowledges the philanthropic contributions of Cox Communications, particularly through Cox Charities, which has provided significant financial and in-kind support to organizations that align with the company's focus areas such as environmental sustainability, community engagement, youth and education, diversity, and technology enhancement. The 2024 Rhode Island recipients of Cox Charities grants include various community and educational organizations. Consequently, the House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island has proclaimed May 21, 2024, as "Cox Impact Day" to celebrate the grant recipients and express gratitude for Cox Communications' philanthropic efforts in Rhode Island. The resolution also directs the Secretary of State to send certified copies of this resolution to representatives of Cox Communications.
