She began Olympic-style 3 position smallbore rifle shooting in January 2020 and quickly excelled, leading her team in average score for the 2020-2021 season and continuing to dominate in subsequent seasons. Her accomplishments include winning the Rhode Island Junior Olympic Smallbore and Air Rifle Championships, earning an invitation to the National Junior Olympic Championships, and setting high scores in various competitions.

The resolution honors Sophia Elise Wood for her outstanding performance in riflery and academics.
