The Senate of the State of Rhode Island has expressed its profound sorrow at the passing of Glen D. Biddiscombe, Sr., a resident of Burrillville and a dedicated public servant. Born in Stoneham, Massachusetts, Glen was the son of Elinor and the late Francis Biddiscombe, and the husband of Debra Biddiscombe. Throughout his life, Glen was committed to his family and to serving the public as a first responder and public safety professional.
Glen Biddiscombe began his service in public safety as a teenager, volunteering in Somerville, and later became a firefighter with the Harrisville Fire Department, retiring as a Lieutenant. He also worked as a dispatcher for the Burrillville Police Department and was the Director of the Burrillville Emergency Management Agency from 2012. For his outstanding service, he received the Rhode Island Lifesaving Medal Award in 2013. Glen is survived by his wife, children, siblings, and grandchildren. The Senate has resolved to extend its condolences to the Biddiscombe family and directed the Secretary of State to transmit a certified copy of the resolution to Mrs. Debra Biddiscombe and Family.
