The Eleanor Slater Hospital-Zambarano campus in Rhode Island has been providing essential health care services since 1995, catering to patients with severe medical conditions that require extended hospitalization. The facility is recognized for its compassionate care for those with acute breathing problems, severe wounds, infectious diseases, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and geriatric patients needing more medical resources than other post-acute providers can offer. The hospital is also noted for being a model for long-term acute care facilities and has an active patient group called "Patients for Progress" that advocates for high-quality care.

In recognition of the hospital's service and the efforts of its staff, the Senate of the State of Rhode Island has resolved to recognize "Zambarano Day" on May 16, 2024. This resolution congratulates the staff and expresses appreciation for their ongoing work. Additionally, the Senate reaffirms its support to ensure that the Eleanor Slater Hospital-Zambarano campus continues to serve as an exemplary long-term acute care hospital. The Secretary of State is directed to transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the hospital staff.
