This bill amends Section 45-55-9 of the General Laws in Chapter 45-55 entitled "Award of Municipal Contracts." The amendment increases the maximum small purchase limits for state and municipal contracts. The limit for construction projects is increased from $10,000 to $25,000, and the limit for all other purchases is increased from $5,000 to $10,000. The municipality is also allowed to further reduce the aggregate purchase amount by ordinance. The changes will take effect on December 31, 2024.
