This bill repeals a section of the General Laws that exempts pari-mutuel facilities and casinos from the smoke-free workplace requirement. The repealed section outlined the requirements for designated smoking and non-smoking areas, as well as ventilation systems to prevent smoke migration. The bill also removes provisions related to employee rights to work in a smoke-free environment and reporting requirements for smoke mitigation efforts. The bill would take effect upon passage.
