This resolution amends the Permanent Legislative Commission on Child Care in Rhode Island. The commission's name will be changed to "The Permanent Legislative Commission on Child Care and Early Learning." The purpose of the commission is to review, develop, and recommend policies and legislation to ensure that Rhode Island has high-quality, affordable, accessible, and equitable child care and early learning services. The commission will consist of 31 members, including representatives from the Rhode Island House of Representatives, Rhode Island Senate, various state departments, and organizations involved in child care and early education. The commission will also organize an annual event for Child Care and Early Education Awareness Day and a planning retreat every two or three years. The commission may be allotted an annual budget of up to $5,000 for activities and costs associated with these events.
