Armand E. Sabitoni, the General Secretary-Treasurer of the Laborers' International Union of North America (LIUNA) and New England Regional Manager, is retiring in April 2023 after nearly 22 years of service. Sabitoni, who began his career as a laborer and member of Laborers' Local 271 in Providence, has been recognized for his leadership and advocacy for workers' rights, benefits, and working conditions. He has a law degree and has risen through the ranks of the union, leading LIUNA to significant growth and influence, and has received numerous awards for his contributions to improving the lives of working families.

Sabitoni has been instrumental in strengthening laborers' training programs, initiating apprenticeship positions, and establishing a construction charter school for high school students. He will continue to serve as New England Regional Manager, overseeing members across New England and most of New York State. He also chairs several national health and safety, pension, and investment funds. The Senate of the State of Rhode Island honors Sabitoni for his dedication and impact, wishing him good health and success in future endeavors, and directs the Secretary of State to transmit a certified copy of this resolution to him.
