The Community College of Rhode Island will establish the state's first Global Wind Organization (GWO) training certificate program in partnership with various organizations. The GWO training program provides essential safety training for workers in offshore wind farm construction and operations. The program aims to certify up to 125 Rhode Islanders to work in the offshore wind industry and contribute to the construction of the nation's first offshore wind farm off the coast of Rhode Island. The resolution appropriates $400,000 to the Community College of Rhode Island to complete the build-out of the Flanagan Campus Field House for the GWO training certificate program.
