The Narragansett Council, Scouts BSA, founded in 1910 and chartered in 1911, has been instrumental in shaping the character and leadership skills of young people in Rhode Island and neighboring states. The Council is committed to inclusivity, serving all Rhode Islanders regardless of income or social status, and has seen 1,140 new Scouts join last year. It has made significant contributions to the community, with Scouts and leaders donating over 15,000 hours of community service and collecting nearly 158,000 pounds of food for local food pantries. The Council also emphasizes the importance of camping and environmental education, with Camp Yawgoog hosting nearly 5,000 campers and awarding over 16,000 merit badges.

In 2022, the Narragansett Council held its first Council Jamboree in twenty years, "Adventure at the Fort," with over 3,000 participants. The Council offers various programs and training classes, including career exploration and leadership skills. Notably, since 2020, the Council has seen its first 15 female Scouts achieve the rank of Eagle. The resolution welcomes the Narragansett Council to the Rhode Island State House to present their 2022 "Report to the State," acknowledges their positive impact, and directs the Secretary of State to send a certified copy of the resolution to Mr. Tim McCandless, Scout Executive and CEO of the Narragansett Council.
