The House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island expresses profound sorrow at the passing of the Honorable Ralph Herbert Woodmansee. Born in Oneco, Connecticut, and later moving to Exeter, Rhode Island, Woodmansee was a man of many talents and occupations. He served honorably in the Rhode Island Air Force National Guard, worked in various roles including owning his own insurance company and serving on the Board of Directors for the Chariho-Exeter Credit Union. His public service was marked by his tenure as a member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives and as the Exeter Town Council President, where he made significant contributions such as establishing a centralized Post Office for Exeter.
In addition to his professional and public service accomplishments, Woodmansee was an active community member, participating in sports, volunteering with youth football and cheerleading, and playing in a men's softball league for sixty seasons. He was also a Life Member of the Exeter Volunteer Fire Department #2 and contributed to the creation of the Hope Valley/Wyoming Fire District. Woodmansee is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family members. The resolution concludes with the House extending its deepest condolences to Woodmansee's family and directing the Secretary of State to transmit certified copies of the resolution to his family members.
