Anthony Capezza is recognized for his lifelong dedication to public service, including his military service in the Vietnam War with the United States Army Airborne and his subsequent 24-year career with the Cranston Police Department, where he retired as a Sergeant Detective. After his retirement from the police force, he continued his commitment to law enforcement as a national representative and then as the State Director of the International Brotherhood of Police Officers (IBPO), where he served as the main lobbyist for the State of Rhode Island until his retirement on February 28, 2021. Capezza is also acknowledged for his legislative support, particularly for laws benefiting police officers and their families, as well as his personal roles as a husband, father, and grandfather.
