This bill amends current law to create the position of executive director of coastal resources management, appointed by the governor with the advice and consent of the senate. The executive director will be an employee of the coastal resources management council and will coordinate with the director of the department of environmental management. The executive director's primary duty will be to continue planning for and managing the resources of the state's coastal region. This bill takes effect upon passage.
