This bill amends Section 28-14-18.4 of the General Laws to extend certain protections and relief for violations of payment of wages to additional chapters of the law. It also requires the director of the Department of Labor and Training to submit an annual report on complaints filed for alleged violations of certain sections of the law. The report must include information on the number of complaints filed, the nature of the alleged violations, how each complaint was resolved, and the results of any appeals. These provisions will expire on July 1, 2025, unless extended by the General Assembly.

The purpose of this bill is to expand the protections and relief available for violations of payment of wages and to increase transparency by requiring an annual report on complaints filed for alleged violations.
