This bill amends Chapter 5-88 of the General Laws entitled "Military Spouse Licensure" to change the title to "Military Member and Spouse License Issuance." The bill also includes provisions regarding the limitations of the occupational license, the recognition of occupational credentials issued by other entities, and the determination of military education, training, and experience. The bill also requires the occupational licensing board to include a notice on all license applications and communications denying a license, stating that the state may recognize occupational licenses obtained from other states for military members and their spouses. The bill preempts any rules, regulations, or ordinances of cities, towns, municipalities, and other subdivisions of the state that regulate occupational licenses. The bill takes effect upon passage.
