This bill, if enacted, would amend Chapter 37-2 of the General Laws entitled "State Purchases" to require that certain public works renovation projects and new construction projects that include glazing work be performed by North American Contractor Certification (NACC) certified companies. Additionally, the bill would require that these projects have at least one architectural glass and metal technician (AGMT) certified worker employed by the company or contractor. The bill specifies that the number of AGMT certified workers required on site would increase over time, starting with one worker on and after January 1, 2025, and eventually reaching 50% of the crew on and after January 1, 2027. The bill defines "glazing work" to include various types of glass and metal installation.
This bill would take effect on July 1, 2023.
