Pennsylvania leads the nation in hardwood production and exports, making our Commonwealth uniquely positioned to find new uses for wood waste and forest residuals from the lumber-making process.

By turning these excess materials into renewable gasoline, we can create a new market for Pennsylvania’s forest products industry while helping lower costs, strengthen energy independence, and develop sustainable energy here at home.

Our legislation would classify qualifying renewable gasoline produced from these materials as a renewable fuel, allowing it to receive the lower tax rate available to renewable fuels under Pennsylvania law. This would help make the technology more competitive and encourage production and use here in the Commonwealth, supporting Pennsylvania jobs while putting forest residuals to productive use.

Please join us in co-sponsoring this legislation to strengthen one of Pennsylvania’s leading agricultural industries and build a more secure, sustainable, and affordable energy future.
