Pennsylvania voters, especially those who are newly eligible, must navigate a range of information to participate in elections, such as voter registration and deadlines, polling locations, mail-in ballots and knowing what exactly is on the ballot. Unfortunately, only 82% of people age 45 and older are registered to vote in Pennsylvania, and approximately 141,000 more 18-year-olds in Pennsylvania could be voting if they were registered. 

National Voter Education Week is a nonpartisan initiative that strives to help voters overcome barriers to voting by promoting voter registration, helping voters find their polling place and helping voters understand their ballot. Voter education initiatives help eligible voters of all ages understand how, when and where they can cast their ballots. Moreover, ensuring that voters have access to accurate election information helps them make informed decisions. That is why I am introducing a resolution to designate the week of October 5 through 9, 2026, as “National Voter Education Week” in Pennsylvania. 

With Pennsylvania’s voter registration deadline for the 2026 general election approaching on October 19, ensuring that eligible voters have access to clear, accurate information about how to register and participate in our elections is more important than ever. Please join me in co-sponsoring this resolution and help to ensure everyone who is eligible to vote is able to do so.
