Pennsylvania veterans have bravely served our country, and the transition from military life to civilian life can be difficult when trying to find employment upon their return. We need to ensure that our veterans have something worthwhile to come home to, and steady employment is one of many ways we can thank them for their service.

A federal government program previously provided tax credits for businesses that hired veterans and other certain individuals, but that program expired in 2025. My legislation would create a state version of this program by providing businesses with a $2,000 tax credit from the Commonwealth for employing qualifying veterans.

We all want to grow Pennsylvania’s economy and provide good jobs that pay real wages and real benefits. As legislators, we can support economic programs like this one to promote job growth and recognize that veterans are a crucial component of our strong workforce.

While our military men and women are fighting to protect the American way of life, we can fight for their successful transition back to civilian life. Please join me in standing up for these heroes and providing them with the assistance they deserve.
