In the near future I intend to introduce a resolution that would designate October 23, 2026, as Hungarian Revolution Memorial Day in Pennsylvania, honoring both the 70th anniversary of the “Hungarian Revolution of 1956” and the 37th anniversary of the “Peaceful Transition.” Both significant events contributed in granting Hungary its sovereignty and independence.

Pennsylvania has given a home to many Hungarian immigrants, especially in Western Pennsylvania, where they were integral parts of the labor force in steel mills and factories.

As we celebrate 250 years of America’s independence, please join me in celebrating the sovereignty and independence of a nation that has been a strong and steadfast ally to both Pennsylvania and our nation.

Thank you for your consideration.
