Purchasing a car is often an exciting and rewarding moment. However, car dealerships sometimes place a plate frame or logo on the front bumper advertising the dealership. When this is done without the buyer’s approval, the removal process can be an inconvenience to the buyer.

For this reason, I will be introducing legislation that would require a car dealership to obtain the verbal or written consent of a customer who has agreed to purchase a car from the dealership before attaching a plate frame or logo on the front bumper of the car. A dealership that violates this legislation would be required to remove the plate frame or logo and repair any possible damage as a result of removing the plate frame or logo upon request of the customer.

This legislation would assist in ensuring that this modification is not made to a buyer’s car without their consent. It is my hope that you will join me in co-sponsoring this legislation.
