Hotel employees are the heart of the hospitality industry, making these workers vital to Pennsylvania’s economy and job market. For example, hospitality greatly contributes to the state’s lucrative tourism industry, and hotels in Pennsylvania employ over 62,000 individuals. Further, this industry provides jobs seekers with both entry level positions and those with the potential for upward mobility.

To celebrate the contributions of hotel employees, I am introducing a resolution to designate September 1, 2026, as “National Hotel Employee Day” in Pennsylvania. This resolution aims to celebrate the dedication, professionalism, and service of hotel employees, whose work helps make Pennsylvania a welcoming destination for visitors and a stronger place to live and work.

Please consider co-sponsoring this resolution to generate recognition for hotel employees and the value they bring to communities across the Commonwealth.
