Colleagues, 

Pennsylvanians look to their elected officials to embrace opportunities that highlight the Commonwealth’s strengths, setting aside any differences to ensure our state is represented with pride.

However, on the issue of ensuring Pennsylvania had a presence at the American State Fair, the Governor was apparently hiding in the basement of his now million-dollar personal home. And as quick to blame others as he is, he decided this time to point the finger at Pennsylvania businesses.

In true bipartisan, pro-Pennsylvania fashion, Senators Dave McCormick and John Fetterman joined with businesses, agricultural organizations, trade associations, labor groups, and countless private partners from across our Commonwealth to make sure Pennsylvania showed up in a way worthy of our people. They refused to let Pennsylvania sit on the sidelines and watch every other state show off their proud heritage. This resolution recognizes those individuals and organizations who refuse to let politics get in the way of promoting Pennsylvania's farmers, manufacturers, workers, entrepreneurs, and communities. They all were seemingly proud to live in the state that they do. Their willingness to step up demonstrated that when the Governor's Office falls short, Pennsylvanians have a habit of picking up the slack.

Sometimes the best way to represent Pennsylvania isn't with a press conference or with a TikTok video, it's about showing up and one-upping our neighbors from other states. My constituents back home call this getting stuff done, and I hope yours do too.
