Prior planning ensures good performance. This is why I am introducing a bill that would require a review of environmental provisions that are in place or could become effective during a transportation construction project. As you know, these projects can take years to finish. That is why I feel all potential environmental considerations need to be examined. By doing so, we ensure that Pennsylvania remains a safe and healthy place to live for generations.

I will be introducing legislation to require new and existing environmental regulations be taken into consideration prior to construction, then if needed, designs can be modified to ensure compliance. This will apply to public-private transportation projects, Turnpike Commission projects, and state highway projects.

I urge you to join me in ensuring that environmental laws are properly addressed prior to construction of transportation projects. The well-being of the environment is important for all Pennsylvanians.
