Podiatrists play a critical role in treating conditions affecting mobility, chronic disease management, and overall quality of life.  Unfortunately, licensees currently face barriers to providing services across state borders, even when they meet the qualifications to practice in another state.

This is why I plan to introduce legislation that would authorize Pennsylvania to join the Interstate Podiatric Medical Licensure Compact.  This compact will streamline licensure for podiatric physicians across participating states, improving patient access to specialized foot and ankle care while maintaining high standards of professional regulation.  The compact will preserve Pennsylvania’s authority over licensing standards and disciplinary actions while enabling administrative efficiency.

Joining the Interstate Podiatric Medical Licensure Compact will improve patient access and support our medical workforce.  I respectfully ask for your support and co-sponsorship of this important legislation.
