In the very near future, I will be introducing identical legislation which mirrors Senator Argall’s legislation in the Senate, to name a portion of I-81 in Schuylkill County as, the “PSP Trooper Michael E. Pahira Jr. Memorial Interchange.”

On July 1, 2026, Pennsylvania State Trooper Michael Pahira Jr. was tragically struck and killed by a tractor-trailer, while performing a routine commercial vehicle safety inspection on a section of Interstate 81, in Schuylkill County.

Trooper Pahira served with the Pennsylvania State Police for almost 20 years and was assigned to Troop L, in Frackville.

In honor of his memory, Senator Argall as well as myself, will be introducing legislation designating Exit 119 on I-81 as the PSP Trooper Michael E. Pahira, Jr. Memorial Interchange.

Please join in honoring Trooper Pahira’s courageous service and ultimate sacrifice, by adding your name as a cosponsor to this invaluable legislation.  Thank you.
