In the near future, I intend to introduce legislation designating a bridge in Cresson Township, Cambria County, as the PFC Stanley J Lassak (WWII) Purple Heart Recipient Memorial Bridge.
Stanley J Lassak was born on January 11, 1921, in Cresson, Pennsylvania. Stanley received education up until the 8th grade before going to work on the family farm. Outside of work, Stanley enjoyed spending time with family and gardening. Stanley J Lassak entered the service in September of 1942. Stanley would go on to become a Private first Class with the Medial Detachment 22nd Infantry and served until September 1945.  Throughout his service, PFC Stanley J Lassak earned several awards and decorations including the Purple Heart, Bronze Battlestar, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal. On December 5, 1993, PFC Stanley J Lassak was struck and killed by a car on Level Road in the Borough of Lilly, Cambria County, Pennsylvania.
Please consider joining me in cosponsoring this important legislation, honoring the outstanding service of PFC Stanley J. Lassak.
