In the near future, I intend to introduce a resolution urging the Congress of the United States to officially designate February 1st of each year as “Blue Star Mothers of America Day.”

Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc. was founded in 1942 by mothers of service members during World War II and has since become a nationally recognized organization dedicated to supporting active-duty military personnel, veterans and their families.

Blue Star Mothers chapters throughout Pennsylvania and the nation provide invaluable volunteer services, including care package drives, hospital visits, military family support, veterans outreach and memorial activities honoring those who have served our country. Their dedication and sacrifice reflect the strength and patriotism of military families across this Commonwealth.

This resolution will respectfully urge Congress to formally designate February 1st as “Blue Star Mothers of America Day” in honor of the enduring contributions made by Blue Star Mothers nationwide.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this important resolution recognizing the service, sacrifice and commitment of Blue Star Mothers and military families.
