Soon, we will introduce a resolution condemning the Government of the Russian Federation for the wrongful and illegal abduction and indoctrination of Ukrainian children.
Since 2022, Russian authorities have abducted and relocated thousands of Ukrainian children. Russian Children's Rights Commissioner, Maria Lvova-Belova, admitted to the forcible transfer of Ukrainian children to Russia, separating them from their families. In addition, the Yale Humanitarian Research Lab identified 32 Russian-occupied facilities involved in the systematic academic, cultural, patriotic and military re-education of Ukrainian children.
This is a direct violation of Article II (e) of the Genocide Convention, which classifies forcible transfer of children of one group to another group as an international war crime. In 2025, former chairman of the United States House Foreign Affairs Committee, Michael T. McCaul, stated that over 260,000 children have been abducted by Russia, confirming that these atrocities have continued and are on-going.
Join us in acknowledging and condemning the actions of the Russian Federation in Ukraine by co-sponsoring our resolution.
