Neonatal nurses serve one of our most vulnerable populations, newborn infants. These nurses are trained to provide care to healthy newborns, premature infants, and those who are born with or develop a variety of conditions, including birth defects or heart problems. Every day across the Commonwealth, neonatal nurses go to work to provide lifesaving and life-changing care to infants, ensuring that they can grow up and lead happy, healthy lives.

To recognize and emphasize these important contributions, I plan to introduce a resolution to designate September 12-18, 2026, as Neonatal Nurses Week. My resolution will highlight the astounding commitment that neonatal nurses demonstrate to the health and well-being of infants across the state.

I ask that you consider joining me in co-sponsoring this resolution to highlight the vital work of our neonatal nurses.
