This bill authorizes the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, with the Governor's approval, to grant and convey a tract of land known as Peace Church, located in Hampden Township, Cumberland County, to the Friends of Peace Church, a Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation, for the nominal price of $1. The property, which encompasses approximately 1.135 acres and includes a two-story stone church building, is subject to various easements and rights of third parties. The conveyance will be executed through a special warranty deed, and any associated costs and fees will be the responsibility of the grantee. Additionally, the transaction is exempt from the realty transfer tax.
The bill also stipulates that the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission may impose covenants, conditions, or restrictions on the property, including a right of reversion, to protect the interests of the Commonwealth. If the conveyance is not completed within two years of the bill's effective date, the authorization will expire. The act is set to take effect immediately upon passage.
