In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that will create a standardized screening process to better identify delinquent children who are victims of human trafficking or who may be at risk of becoming a victim of human trafficking. Far too often, these vulnerable children go unnoticed or unsupported, and this legislation aims to close those gaps in a meaningful and coordinated way.

This legislation calls for a collaborative effort involving the Department of Human Services, the Office of Attorney General, the Pennsylvania State Police, and county children and youth agencies. Together, these partners will work to develop a comprehensive screening protocol that can be effectively implemented across the Commonwealth. By establishing this process, we can more swiftly recognize warning signs, intervene earlier, and connect children with the vital services and protections already available to victims of human trafficking.

I respectfully ask that you consider co-sponsoring this legislation and stand with me in ensuring that every child in our Commonwealth has the protection, support, and opportunity they deserve.
