Improperly created speed humps and bumps have caused damage to vehicles and have created delays in traffic. Currently, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation provides recommendations for traffic calming devices like speed humps and bumps, but it is up to the municipality to follow through on these recommendations for municipally owned roads. Every driver deserves the expectation that traffic calming devices will not harm their vehicle or cause unnecessary delays in traffic.
 
For this reason, I will be introducing legislation that will require all new speed humps and speed bumps to conform to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation recommendations and standards for traffic calming devices. This legislation will allow drivers to have the same experience with every speed hump and bump in Pennsylvania.
