The events of September 11, 2001, remain etched in the memories of Americans across the nation. As we approach the 25th anniversary of 9/11 in 2026, we remember not only the tragic loss of life, but also the courage, sacrifice, and unity that emerged in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

While all Americans remember that day, the families of those lost have carried that grief for nearly twenty-five years. In the aftermath of the attacks, members of our armed forces answered the call to defend our nation, while first responders demonstrated extraordinary bravery in their efforts to save lives at the World Trade Center.

The events aboard United Airlines Flight 93 also stand as a powerful example of selflessness and patriotism. Because of the courage of the passengers and crew, the plane crashed in Stonycreek Township, Somerset County—located in my legislative district—instead of reaching its intended target, believed to have been either the United States Capitol or the White House.

To honor the victims of September 11th, their families, our first responders, military service members, and all those who aided in the recovery and rebuilding efforts, I intend to introduce a resolution commemorating the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

I respectfully ask you to join me in co-sponsoring this important resolution.
