In the near future, we plan to introduce a Resolution designating September 25, 2026, as "Disabled American Veterans Day."

The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) was founded in 1920 and chartered by Congress in 1932.  The DAV is dedicated to delivering comprehensive services on behalf of our nation's veterans with disabilities and their families, ensuring the fulfillment of basic promises.  Their life-changing support reaches more than 1 million veterans nationwide each year

In Pennsylvania, the DAV employs 14 accredited Veterans Service Officers – providing free assistance to disabled veterans with VA claims and appeals, ensuring access to earned benefits.
In 2024, these VSO’s:
  • Added over 2,200 new veterans to organizational files.
  • Processed 179 VA health care enrollment applications
  • Filed 1,560 claims applying for service-connected disability benefits.
Meanwhile, the DAV Transportation Network offers critical no-cost rides to disabled Veterans to VA medical appointments, ensuring access to health care.

Please join us in recognizing the DAV’s 106th Anniversary!
