In the near future, I will be introducing an amendment to the Pennsylvania Constitution empowering local municipalities to manage their zoning regulations to prevent any development projects that they find untenable or detrimental to their resources, cost of living, or way of life.

Currently, judicial precedent requires local municipalities to allow any development projects that could exist to proceed in their community. This means that under so-called “exclusionary zoning”, our townships and boroughs face costly litigation if they attempt to protect their residents’ land and resources from significant burdens and hazards.

Local communities are best suited to protect their citizens and provide meaningful oversight of development projects. I believe it is time to put the residents of our townships and boroughs in the driver’s seat when it comes to what is placed in their own community.

Please join me in supporting these important protections for our local communities.
