Higher living costs are crippling so many facets of Pennsylvanians’ lives. At a time when public transportation in our Commonwealth is most in need of funding that never seems to come, driving, owning, and maintaining a car is more expensive than ever.

According to a recent report, the average U.S. driver pays $1,084 for six months of car insurance--up 18% from a year ago, just as gas prices are now consistently more than $5 per gallon.

As a legislature, we need to do our part to ensure that our constituents are able to not only survive, but thrive, in this environment. To do so, we need to take decisive actions that will have an impact. As such, I will soon be introducing legislation to cap car insurance rates in Pennsylvania, and I invite you join me in co-sponsoring this legislation.
