I will be introducing a resolution in the near future designating the week of September 20 through September 26, 2026, as "Surgical Technologist Week" in Pennsylvania.

Surgical technologists play a vital role in the care and health of surgical patients in this Commonwealth.  As a large percentage of the general population approaches retirement age and as technological advances permit new surgical procedures, employment of surgical technologists who are educated in these technologies is expected to grow faster than average for all occupations.

In this Commonwealth, there are 18 programs in surgical technology that graduate quality students.

Please join me in recognizing these medical professionals for their contributions to the care and health of the residents of this Commonwealth.
