In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution designating the week of May 10-16, 2026, as “National Hospital Week” in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. 
 
Hospitals play an integral role in delivering health care services to all persons in this Commonwealth.  Hospitals are a key component of our economy and are responsible for one in eight jobs across the state. Whether it’s acute inpatient care, outpatient, emergency, rehabilitation or behavioral health, hospitals serve a vital mission. Pennsylvania hospitals provided 1.5 million instances of inpatient treatment and more than 5.4 million instances of emergency department care in 2024 alone.
 
Please join me in recognizing the hospitals and health systems across this Commonwealth and to express our gratitude to the dedicated women and men who provide the services that support the health of our communities.
