I will soon be introducing legislation that will not allow data centers to be built on prime farmland where normal agricultural operations are currently taking place.

Data Centers are already here in Pennsylvania and will not be going away.

While there Is a great need for data based on the rise of AI and our everyday, personal technological needs, we need to keep in mind that Pennsylvania is one of the states that feeds the entire world. In ensuring proper development, we need to protect one of our most vital resources in the state—prime farmland.

To accomplish this, I will be introducing legislation that will not allow data centers to be built on prime soil where normal agricultural operations are currently taking place.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this important legislation. We do not want to fall behind in the data race as a state or country. However, we need to proceed with a responsible plan to move forward with as little negative impact on our bountiful food supply and robust agricultural industry in Pennsylvania.
