In the near future, I intend to introduce legislation designating the bridges carrying US Route 30 over Raystown Branch of the Juniata River in Snake Springs Township, Bedford County, as the Victor E. Kidd Memorial Bridges.

Victor E. Kidd was born on March 19, 1947, in Bedford County Pennsylvania. Victor attended Bedford High School where he graduated in 1965. He was also a 1967 graduate of Thompson Business College in York, Pennsylvania. Outside of work, Victor enjoyed baseball, hunting and fishing. Victor entered the service on Sept. 18, 1967. He held the position of Army Private First Class, 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry, 25th Division. P.F.C Victor E. Kidd received the Bronze Star posthumously for Outstanding Meritorious Service. P.F.C. Victor E. Kidd was killed-in-action on April 7, 1968, as a result of gunshot wound received while on combat operation when engaged hostile force during firefight in the Tay Ninh province, Vietnam.

Please join me in cosponsoring this important legislation to honor the service and sacrifice of P.F.C. Victor E. Kidd.
