We are introducing legislation designating May 2026 as “National Bicycle Month” in Pennsylvania.

To celebrate National Bicycle Month in Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania House Cycling & Trails Caucus is planning a Capital Area Greenbelt Ride on Tuesday, May 5th, at 8:00 a.m. This ride highlights the importance of cycling to individuals across Pennsylvania and promotes cycling as a great form of exercise and sport.

Cycling is a healthy and practical way for people of all ages to travel between home, school, and work. Pennsylvania has expansive cycling trails that cover more than 2,400 miles across the Commonwealth, showcasing the unique and beautiful terrain of Pennsylvania. Additionally, Pennsylvania offers a multitude of mountain-biking trails, gravel riding, bicycle clubs, a world class velodrome, and award-winning cycling communities. It is important that we honor cyclists and the history of cycling in Pennsylvania by designating May as National Bicycle Month.

We hope you will consider co-sponsoring this resolution to honor May 2026 as “National Bicycle Month” in Pennsylvania.

If you would like to attend the Capital Area Greenbelt Ride on Tuesday, May 5th, Please RSVP to Kristine Latham at 717-783-5008 or klatham@pahousegop.com

Sincerely,
