I intend to introduce legislation to increase hunting in Pennsylvania, invest in local economies, and bring people back to our Commonwealth.

Pennsylvania outdoor recreation is second to none, and the hunters who grew up here know that better than anyone. Sadly, in recent years, Pennsylvanians, including Pennsylvania hunters, are leaving the Commonwealth.  Pennsylvania is losing real population, with more losses projected in the coming years. Similarly, the number of hunting licenses sold has declined by nearly 400,000 over the last 35 years with no sign of stopping.

Clearly, if nothing changes, both our hunting heritage and our population are at risk.

My legislation will bring Pennsylvania natives “home to hunt” by offering resident hunting license prices to out-of-state sportsmen and women who are originally from Pennsylvania. When Pennsylvanians come home to hunt, local businesses, communities, economies, and families will all benefit.

I believe that Pennsylvania’s hunting heritage and outdoor recreation are key to bringing people back to Pennsylvania for good. I ask that you join me by cosponsoring this legislation.
