Across the history of our world, few nations have ever had the impact and relevance that the United States of America has held for 250 years, not only in our own hemisphere but across all nations. Extending to cultural pervasiveness, economic activity, military stewardship, and the cultivation of a grand political experiment the likes of which our world has not seen before or since.

Our nation was one forged on the fundamental principles of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness which has come to define the foundation of our civilization and society across every municipality, county, state, and territory flying the American flag. Especially right here in the Keystone state of Pennsylvania at Independence Hall in Philadelphia, where the founding fathers of our great nation deliberated as representatives of their respective colonies on whether or not to rebel for independence from the British empire at the time, ultimately culminating in the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, 1776. Independence Hall would also play host to the first constitutional convention, resulting in the signing of the United States Constitution on September 17th, 1787. A document which has proven to be one of the central pillars of the United States’ political system and culture.

Now, a grand milestone sits before us, the 250th anniversary of our founding as a nation. An entire quarter of a millennium of history defined by our values, our way of life, and the choices made by Americans across generations.

To that end, we will soon be introducing a resolution to recognize July 4th, 2026 as “Independence Day” here in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. Thereby recognizing the contributions of both Americans and Pennsylvanians across generations in the formation of our history as both a Nation and a Commonwealth. Through events such as the encampment at Valley Forge, the hosting of our nation’s first World Fair in 1876, the recent anniversaries of our Navy and Marine Corps founding, and many other events across our history.

Please join us in sponsoring this historic and monumental resolution to recognize July 4th, 2026 as “Independence Day” here in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. The keystone state which brought it all together 250 years ago.
