In the near future, we plan to introduce a resolution recognizing the week of May 10–16, 2026, as “Skilled Nursing Care Week” in Pennsylvania.
Established by the American Health Care Association (AHCA) in 1967, National Skilled Nursing Care Week (NSNCW) acknowledges the essential role of skilled nursing care centers in providing “high-quality, long-term and post-acute care to millions of individuals each year.” The week starts each year on Mother’s Day and is celebrated through the following Saturday.
The theme for NSNCW 2026 is "Moments in Bloom.” This theme celebrates the idea that small, everyday acts of compassion and connection can be just as meaningful as some of the bigger moments in life. The little moments, when nurtured, can have an outsized, positive influence on residents, families, and staff members of skilled nursing care centers.
Please join us in sponsoring this resolution honoring the work being done by dedicated and selfless healthcare professionals at skilled nursing care facilities across the Commonwealth.
