In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution to designate April 2026 as Sikh Awareness and Appreciation Month in Pennsylvania.

Sikhism is the 5th largest religion in the world and there are over 500,000 Sikhs in the US, which includes Sikh communities in Upper Darby, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and other towns throughout the Commonwealth. Sikhs have been contributing to America's communities and economy for over 100 years. One of the most sacred days in the Sikh calendar, Vaisakhi, celebrates the beginning of the spring harvest and the first Khalsa for Sikhs on April 14th, 2026.

Please join me in recognizing and celebrating Sikh heritage in Pennsylvania.
