The Pennsylvania Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is a network of 21 local programs in 32 counties in Pennsylvania. These programs, comprised of more than 1000 volunteers, advocate for more than 2000 children who have been subjected to abuse and/or neglect. Pennsylvania CASA volunteers work to ensure that children’s needs are met while in the dependency system, as well as assisting in obtaining safe and permanent housing.

Therefore, I plan to introduce a resolution designating July 15, 2026, as “Court Appointed Special Advocates Day” in Pennsylvania. This resolution would honor the Pennsylvania CASA volunteers for their selfless advocacy and efforts in promoting the safety and well-being of Pennsylvania’s children.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this resolution so that we may recognize Pennsylvania CASA for their crucial contributions for children and families within the child welfare system.
